David Mellor Sloane Square

Sloane Square shop Sloane Square shop exterior

Our Sloane Square shop is a well known fixture of the sophisticated London shopping scene. Opened by the designer David Mellor in 1969 it soon became a focal point of the Swinging Sixties Chelsea and an important influence on retail design.

The shop, on two floors, specializes in tableware and kitchenware carefully selected as the best on the international market in terms of design and quality. Many of our products are of our own design and exclusive to the David Mellor shops.

The London shop displays the full range of David Mellor cutlery and we operate a very personal Wedding List service.

David Mellor Country Shop

David Mellor Country Shop

The Country Shop is at Hathersage in Derbyshire, near Chatsworth, in the dramatic High Peak landscape. Here you will find our superb collection of tableware and kitchenware. This shop has a more rural feel than David Mellor Sloane Square with a special emphasis on handmade pottery, woodware, glass and baskets from individual craft workshops.

Directly opposite the Round Building cutlery factory, the shop at Hathersage gives visitors the opportunity to buy their cutlery from the place the designs were originally conceived.

The Country Shop displays the full range of David Mellor cutlery and kitchen knives and our staff provide expert advice. On weekdays it is usually possible to visit the factory and watch our cutlery being made. A Wedding List service is available at the Country Shop.

Alongside the shop is the Visitor Centre, with the new David Mellor Design Museum and an excellent Café offering tea, coffee, homemade cakes and a delicious light lunch.
